  • BEFORE R2OT

After obtaining her Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Madeleine Skrzynecka has exhibited her work in several group shows in Poland and abroad. In 2024, her paintings were featured in the diploma exhibition Melancholic Figures of Longing at the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery in Katowice.

  • WHY DO WE LOVE IT

Because her paintings capture the quiet weight of memory and the delicate pull of longing. Because through anonymous, time-suspended figures and monochromatic tones, she evokes a world where the past lingers just beneath the surface.

  • OUR ADVICE

Place Madeleine Skrzynecka's artworks in an intimate space. Find a quiet place where you can contemplate her artwork home

Magdalena Skrzynecka

A painter and visual artist, Magdalena Skrzynecka is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where she studied in the Painting Studio led by Professor Jacek Rykała. She primarily works in the medium of painting. Her work explores themes of melancholy, memory, and the past, focusing on emotions and intimate reflections on relationships and closeness.

Her art resonates with the nostalgia of the younger generation, particularly Generation Z, characterized by a longing for a world they have never experienced. Drawing inspiration from old films and photographs, the artist examines a past to which she feels deeply connected. Her monochromatic paintings depict anonymous, time-suspended figures—hibernating in the space of memory—nonexistent, yet filled with an inner yearning.

The artist is also in search of her own identity, both in art and in life. Her work becomes a tool of exploration, a means of finding her place in the world, balancing delicately between the past and the present.
