JONASZ KOPERKIEWICZ – "ELUME"

A graduate of the Faculty of Graphics and Painting at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, in 2014 the artist defended a master's thesis with distinction in the field of screen
printing. In 2020, they defended their doctoral dissertation in the same field, obtaining the title of Doctor of Fine Arts. Currently, they focus on abstract painting, where the dominant aspect is the study of color and form, serving as a point of departure for reflections on the nature of reality.

"And while I can be described this way, my paintings and the experience they induce cannot. It is
precisely this pure impact, devoid of narrative and thus of interpretation, that lies at the core of my
creative work. A nonverbal thread of communication with oneself, with a depth that usually
disappears from our horizon of experience—a kind of static emptiness, like the eye of a cyclone.
These experiences are the essence of our constitution, and though we lose touch with them, they
endure endlessly beyond our awareness."
